Dennis Clavin, CFP®
Dennis Clavin has been helping clients take their financial issues and occasional confusion and turn them into clarity and confidence along with a bigger personal vision since 1979. He loves to hear your unique story and understand it fully. Once he does, the partnering of a client’s clearer goals and Dennis’ knowledge of financial tools and concepts will help lead to confidence and satisfaction as they transition through life.
“So many people seem to allow themselves to live their life in black and white. I love having the chance of hearing someone’s stories and expand exciting opportunities ... And add more color to their lives. ” - Dennis Clavin
“Your financial assets are a utility like the engines on a jet. They need to be maintained, monitored and tuned up. The bigger question is ... What do you want your life’s flight plan to look like? How do you make a bigger impact for yourself and all the things that you care about? ” - Dennis Clavin
Dennis is a life-long Seattleite and a graduate of the University of Washington. He loves music, traveling, and sports in general but has a definite passion for golf and all the fun it brings. He has been married to his lovely wife, Lori, since 1988 and has two great children: Tyler who will be giving Dennis strokes on the golf course forever and Jenna who has a great swing though she hardly plays.
In 1987, Dennis earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificate. He is a past member of the South Journal News Financial Advisory Panel and the Highline School District Business Advisory Board. He also has donated his time and knowledge to the Seattle Times Financial Hotline and has made an appearance on King 5 news discussing financial issues.
Client Services Manager
Allen first came to work for Dennis Clavin, LLC, through a good friend who was leaving the business to pursue her dream. It just so happened that Allen’s dream was to move away from where he was in the corporate world, to a place where he could work more closely and personally with clients, to add value, and see the benefit he helps create for clients. Working with Dennis has been a great opportunity and first-hand learning experience in the business.
Prior to joining Dennis Clavin LLC, Allen spent time working at Microsoft as delivery operations coordinator, where he was the front line for interactions between management, instructors, and learners. Coordinating more than 200 learning deliveries a year taught him the importance of clarifying the needs, wants, expectations, and goals of all parties, which is critical to the success of any business.
Allen holds FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network® and has been in the financial services industry since 2012. He is responsible for providing excellent customer service on an ongoing basis including answering client questions, scheduling, reviewing planning issues along with handling portfolio trades and rebalancing along with aiding in the buildout of client case studies.
A native of Washington state and graduate of Central Washington University, Allen resides in Burien with his wife Amy, daughter Irie and Son Elijah.
Kandi, originally from Fresno, CA, is the first person to greet you when visiting our office. She bravely moved to the Seattle area right after Mount St. Helens blew its top in 1980. She began working for Dennis Clavin, LLC, in the summer of 2006.
Before joining the team, Kandi, was the art librarian for Associated Grocers. After 20+ year tenure, she made the change to the financial field where she could use her strengths to work directly with our clients. Her responsibilities as office manager include answering calls, business operations, and directing our clients' questions to the appropriate person for their financial needs. She is, as Dennis likes to say, our "money in motion" specialist.
Kandi, and her husband, Mark, currently reside in Puyallup. When not in the office you can find her caring for her garden or refashioning clothing. Kandi, who loves animals, not only enjoys the wildlife around her home, but also has two cats and one dog. She also extends her work talents by holding leadership roles at her church.
